Smithsonian Folklife Festival 2008

Posted in by Rick Santiago

or how they ran this neat event into the ground.  The 2008 theme featured Bhutan, NASA and Texas.
They have tinkered with this one time cool event so much over the years that, in our opinion, you might as well be watching the Discovery or TLC or History Channel and save the trip to the national mall
More to come on this event complete with pics…

Out of Order and Honfest 2008

Posted in by Rick Santiago

They’ve come and gone and here’s the takes….

Honfest has become just one big commercial, yuk! Just an awful display of selfishness and studpidity!!!

Out of Order is one of our favorite events and we want to keep it going and going and going, help it out…

J Bowers, Baltimore Citypaper and 3 out of the Seven Deadly Sins

Posted in by Rick Santiago

Been 4 months, 2 weeks to the day.

I think that is long enough, water under the bridge, spilled milk, etc., etc., etc.

If you haven’t read the article, please follow link in previous post, EVERY SINGLE QUOTED statement in the article, unless someone comes forward and takes credit for the quoted statements, as far as I know, are complete fabrications and misprepresents facts. I have come to the conclusion, Miss J Bowers may have visited the Studio at T.T.o.t.M., and did not do justice for the readers of the Baltimore City Paper… the article was written as if Jessica Bowers suffers from occasional bouts with hysteria… I don’t know, I’m just being as observant as I can to explain her comments, I don’t want to call J Bowers a complete fantasist, since we do agree the ceilings are painfully low but I do believe she commited 3 of the Seven Deadly Sins.

Ok, that was an uncalled for statement and the Artguy apologizes for making any personal attacks on Jessica Bowers…

Of course more to come, but only a little little little bit at a time, it’s more fun that way!

Black Friday and Happy Saturday

Posted in by Rick Santiago

This is the first Thanksgiving weekend the Studio has been open and it was a very very good weekend. Lots of traffic and smiling faces, pleasant comments about the art and YES, the Studio sold quite a few pieces.

For those that stopped by, a big THANK YOU!

Show #7 - american values american pride, a pre-election primer

Posted in by Rick Santiago

This was a great show… exhibit runs through December 2, 2006 - stop by a take a look at some awsome works by M. S. Wiggs and the Urban Blight Project by Megan Hildebrandt.

Wiggs’ works touches on our values as America around the world and at home…

Hildebrandt uses wastes we see everyday in the cities we live in and turns them into art, socially conscience work…

We hope to have some images for you guys soon

Friday night and Dinty Moore

Posted in by Rick Santiago

WARNING WARNING WARNING…

as some of you may know, the Artguy will eat anything that is moist and warm, but as of today, Dinty Moore Beef Stew is no longer on the approved list of stuff.

Within minutes of eating this can of Beef Stew that according to its label, “makes soup look soupy”, the rumbling and grumbling of the Artguy’s stomach reared it’s ugly head, and remained this way for a few hours. Canned meat is no longer on my approved list of snack or quick meals.

Do yourself a favor, eat fresh!
